Gail Proude: I grew up in Prince Edward Island and love the gentle beauty of the east coast and this is reflected in much of my work. However, since my move to BC in 2009, I am fascinated, and often overwhelmed by the majestic west coast scenery. I paint a variety of subjects mainly landscapes and seascapes. My work is mainly developed from photos that I have taken. Often, I think about a painting for months before beginning. I keep my ideas in a notebook and refer to it often.
